Aurora is not one market. It is four, and you can only win the one you are standing in.

What this page covers

Why a single map pack does not cover a city this size, how to pick the part of Aurora worth competing in, and what a build costs.

Twenty miles north to south means you win a slice of this city, not the whole of it.

Where an Aurora Job Actually Goes Missing

Four steps between somebody needing you and you invoicing them. Miss any one and the job goes to whoever did not.

Then Your pageLoads fast, answers the price question, or loses them to the next result.
Then The callAnswered inside a few rings, or dialled straight to a competitor.

Legacy Concrete, Aurora: Calls up 30% inside the first two months

A new website and a Google Business Profile that had not been set up properly. Both went in together, because on their own neither one moves a phone.

One Map Pack Does Not Cover Twenty Miles

Aurora runs about twenty miles north to south and sits across three counties. It is the third largest city in Colorado, and that size is the single most important fact about marketing a business here.

The map pack is decided in large part by how close a business sits to the person searching. In a town the size of Parker that barely matters, because the whole town is inside the radius.

In Aurora it decides everything. Somebody searching near Southlands and somebody searching near Havana are looking at two different sets of three businesses, and neither list knows the other exists.

Which means ranking in Aurora is not a goal you can hold. You rank in your part of Aurora.

A company on the south side competing for north side searches is spending money on a result it cannot reach, and the report will still show it as an Aurora ranking. Castle Rock does not have this problem, which is why the advice there is the opposite.

So the first decision is not what the site says. It is which Aurora you are actually competing in, and that is usually a smaller answer than people want.

Pick the radius you can win, build the pack signals for it, and use organic pages to reach the rest of the city instead of pretending the pack will.

Why this city, specifically
01About twenty miles north to south, so one pack never covers it
02Across three counties, which splits the directory and citation picture too
03Third largest city in Colorado, and the searches are priced accordingly
04Thirty minutes from Parker, so Aurora is a market I know rather than a pin on a map

This is the opposite problem to Castle Rock. There the market is small enough to take whole. Here it is large enough that taking it whole is not on the table, and pretending otherwise is how Aurora budgets get spent on nothing.

An Aurora Map Pack, Measured Rather Than Guessed

A geo grid drops a pin every half mile and asks Google, from each one, who ranks. Aurora is big enough that the answer changes street by street, which is exactly what this shows.

A Local Falcon geo grid for Legacy Concrete showing map pack positions for concrete near me across Aurora and east Denver
Legacy Concrete, concrete near me, 13 by 13 grid over 154 square miles, scanned June 2024. Average rank 5.48. First place through the middle of Aurora and Glendale, then into double digits out past Watkins and down towards Centennial. That falloff is the honest shape of every local ranking, and any agency promising you the whole metro is describing something that does not exist.

Aurora questions

Can you get me ranking across all of Aurora?

In the map pack, no, and neither can anyone else. The pack is decided partly by how close you are to the searcher and Aurora is twenty miles long. What does reach the whole city is organic, which is what the service and neighbourhood pages are for.

Which part of Aurora should I be targeting?

Usually the few miles around your address, plus wherever your existing jobs cluster. If those two are different places, that is worth knowing before anything gets built. The teardown answers it with your own service area rather than a guess.

Do you actually work in Aurora, or just target the keyword?

Legacy Concrete is an Aurora client and I have built for a vehicle wrap shop here too. I am thirty minutes away in Parker, and Aurora is one of the markets I work in most.

Is Aurora harder than Castle Rock or Parker?

More competitive, yes, and larger. That cuts both ways. There is far more search volume here, and the trade-off is that you win a slice of it rather than the whole city. I would rather set that expectation now than at month six.

How much does a website cost in Aurora?

A three page custom site starts at $1,500. A twenty page build with a page per service and per town runs $6,500. Most Aurora service businesses land near $3,500, and your figure goes in writing before anything starts.

Do I own the site when it is finished?

Yes. Domain, hosting account, content, images and logins are all registered to you from day one, and access transfers within one business day of you asking.
