AI SEO means getting named when a Denver homeowner asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Google's AI Overview for someone in your trade. Most of what gets you named is not on your website, two things Denver agencies bill for as AI SEO measurably do nothing, and the baseline check takes five minutes and costs nothing. This page covers all three, from a desk in Parker, twenty minutes down I-25.
Published 2026 research, named under each number. None of it is mine, which is the point: this is how the engines behave for everyone.
45%
Of consumers now ask an AI for local recommendations
Up from 6 percent a year earlier. The question is a sentence, the answer is three names, and most people never open a website after it.
BrightLocal Local Consumer Review Survey, 2026
77%
Of what AI cites about a business is not on its site
Reviews, directories, Reddit, YouTube, local news. Your website is one source among many, and the one you control least matters most.
Omniscient Digital, 2026
1.2%
Of local businesses ChatGPT actually recommends
Perplexity names about 7 percent, Gemini about 11. Google's map pack shows 36 percent. The assistants name very few, which is why being one of them is worth the work.
AI local visibility report, 2026
The local SEO numbers from real clients, calls counted on their own Google listings, are on the Parker SEO page and the Castle Rock SEO page.
Three things to know before anyone sells you AI SEO, including me.
This is the shape of every answer, from ChatGPT or Gemini or the box at the top of Google. The business names in this example are invented. The reasons are not: recent reviews that mention the job and the neighborhood, a page for the exact service, a published price, a consistent address. Read the reasons. Every one of them is something you can do, and the assistant tells you which ones the top name did.
A homeowner in Centennial types a sentence: who is a good electrician for a panel upgrade and what should it cost. The assistant reads reviews, directories, forums and your site, checks that you are one consistent business everywhere it looks, and returns three names with a reason for each. ChatGPT recommends about one business in a hundred. This graphic is the whole process in four steps.
ChatGPT references reviews in 58 percent of its answers and Perplexity in all of them. A review that says panel upgrade in the Pinery, done in a day, is a sentence an assistant can lift. Forty of those beat a perfect website with four. This is a Castle Rock client's Google box: 5.0 stars across 73 reviews, which is the kind of record an assistant can recommend without hedging.
Reviews, a complete and consistent listing, and one page per service with the answer in the first paragraph: that is local SEO, and it is most of AI SEO. The genuinely different parts are earning mentions off your site, keeping pages fresh, and writing so a passage can be quoted on its own. Two line items you will see on Denver quotes tested flat in 2026: schema markup as an AI lever, and llms.txt files. Keep schema for consistency. Do not pay monthly for either as an AI service.
The assistant does not answer from memory. A question about a trade and a place triggers a live search: ChatGPT through Bing, Gemini and AI Overviews through Google. It gathers your site, the business profile Bing mirrors from Google, the review sites and directories, then reasons over them for consistency, reviews and specificity before naming three. The free fix most Denver trades have never done: claim your Bing Places listing and open Bing Webmaster Tools, so the search that feeds ChatGPT can see you at all.
A promise only counts if you can check it. Here is how you check each one.
What ChatGPT, Gemini and the AI Overview say about your trade in your town on day one. Yours to keep.
→AI visibility rides on the search work. Plans from $200 a month, the number in writing first.
→Counted on your own Google listing at month three. If they have not moved, I keep working free.
→Nobody controls what an assistant says. What I control is whether the sources exist and agree. Anyone promising more is inventing it.
→Ask ChatGPT the sentence a customer would. Ask Gemini. Search it on Google and read the AI Overview and the map pack under it. Screenshot all four. Then read what they got wrong: an old number, a dropped service, a competitor named in your town. That list is the first month of work, and you just did it for free.
Assistants get a business's details wrong about a third of the time, and they get them wrong because the sources disagree. The listing is set up completely, in your account, and the same name, number and services are pushed to the directories and profiles the engines read. This is a Centennial client's listing after that work: calls from about 2 a month to 12.
Two Denver pages that rank for AI SEO print a price: $1,500 to $10,000 and up a month, and $2,000 to $5,000 a month in six-month sprints. The rest print nothing and quote after a call. Here it is inside the monthly search work, from $200 a month, because the work overlaps almost entirely and selling it twice would be selling the same hour under two names.

Chris is the best at what he does! I have never experienced such high quality service with other marketing outfits. Chris listens and doesn't push you to sign up for more than what you need.

Assistants do not care where my desk is, and neither does this work. I am in Parker, twenty minutes south of downtown, and most clients are in the south metro.

Make it visible to Bing, because ChatGPT searches Bing when someone asks for a local business. Claim your Bing Places listing, open Bing Webmaster Tools and submit your sitemap, and keep your Google Business Profile complete, since Bing mirrors it. Then make sure the same name, number and services appear everywhere Bing can read: your site, Yelp, Nextdoor, the trade directories.
The assistant gathers what the web says about you and picks the clearest footprint. Four things decide it: the same details everywhere, recent reviews that name the job and the town, a page for the exact service with the answer and a price in the first paragraph, and mentions on sites you do not own. Do those four and you are doing the work. Nobody can promise the result.
Bing. ChatGPT runs a live Bing search for local questions, which is why a business that is invisible to Bing, through a crawl block, missing listings or a slow site, is invisible to ChatGPT. Gemini and Google's AI Overviews use Google. Perplexity runs its own index. The sources overlap heavily, so the same fixes help all three.
Because it searches fresh each time and reasons over whatever comes back, so a new review, a changed page or a competitor's new directory listing can change the result. That is also why freshness matters: content cited by AI engines averages about 26 percent newer than content that merely ranks.
Yes, as the thing every other source points back to. About 77 percent of cited sources are off your site, but the assistant checks them against your pages. A page per service with the answer in the first paragraph is what lets it quote you with confidence, and a site that contradicts your listing is what makes it move on.
Getting your business named when someone asks an AI assistant, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's AI Overview, for a company in your trade and town. The assistant reads what the web says about you and names a few businesses it trusts. AI SEO is the work of being one of them.
A growing share. In 2026, 45 percent of consumers said they use ChatGPT or another AI tool for local recommendations, up from 6 percent the year before. Most calls still come from Google and the map pack, which is why this is done inside the search work rather than instead of it.
Mostly no. Reviews, the listing and one page per service are the same work. What is different is earning mentions off your site, keeping pages fresh, and writing so a passage can be quoted on its own. The difference is a discipline, not a separate product.
Not measurably. Ahrefs tested adding JSON-LD across live sites in 2026 and found no change in citations. Schema is still worth having for consistency and Google's rich results. It is not worth a separate monthly fee as an AI service, and the same goes for llms.txt files, 97 percent of which are never fetched by any engine.
The Denver agencies that print a price run $1,500 to $10,000 a month, or $2,000 to $5,000 a month in six-month sprints. Most print nothing. Here it is included in the monthly search work, which starts at $200 a month and runs $750 to $1,500 for the full plan, in writing before anything starts.
No, and neither can anyone else. Nobody outside the companies that run these assistants controls what they say. What is controllable is whether the sources exist, agree with each other and are clear enough to quote. That is the work. A guarantee of being named is a sales line.
Parker, twenty minutes south of downtown, with clients across the south metro: Parker, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch and Centennial. For the map pack a Denver address matters. For what an assistant says about you, it does not, because the assistant is reading the web, not measuring distance.
The pages this work sits beside.
I'll show you what ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overview say when someone asks for your trade in your town, who they name instead of you, and which sources are telling them that. Forty-eight hours, no call required. Yours to keep.
$47, free if you go ahead with any service. If you do not see an increase in calls by month three, I work for free until you do.
